Emily Johnston, RN, MSN, FNP-C, CNN-NP
Emily Johnston is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in renal disease and dialysis. Emily Johnston graduated from Saint Luke's College of Health Sciences in 2010 with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation from nursing school, Emily started her career caring for the complex renal population as she worked on the Renal Transplant/Dialysis Unit at Saint Luke's Hospital. Emily decided to further her education by attending graduate school and received her Masters of Science in Nursing, as a Family Nurse Practitioner from University of Central Missouri in May 2015. Emily's passion for the complex and challenging nature of the renal population led her to pursue a position as a nephrology nurse practitioner and joined Kansas City Kidney Consultants in June 2015. Emily has a great deal of knowledge and experience in managing acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, end stage kidney disease and kidney transplant. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nephrology Nurses Association and the National Kidney Foundation. In 2021, Emily confirmed her expertise in Nephrology and obtained certification as a Certified Nephrology Nurse Practitioner (CNN-NP). In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and friends, as well as reading, knitting and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
