Ashley Arrowood, RN, MSN, DNP-C
Ashley Arrowood is an Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner specializing in transplant nephrology. Ashley graduated from Central Methodist University in 2014 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, Ashley started her career within the Veterans Affairs Health system, caring for complex patients with cardiopulmonary disease processes. Ashley eventually began working at The University of Kansas Health System with solid abdominal organ transplant and hepatobiliary surgical patients. Ashley had developed an interest in nephrology and transplant patient populations after watching her father suffer from kidney disease throughout her life. She returned to school to become a nurse practitioner and graduated from The University of Kansas with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Ashley began working at Kansas City Kidney Consultants in March 2022, specifically with the transplant population. Ashley has a great passion for collaborating with patients after transplant to ensure that goals are obtained and patients feel as if they are part of the healthcare team. She strives to ensure that treatment plans are comprehensive, patient-centered, and effective. Ashley has also spent an extensive amount of her career in the education of future healthcare providers. She taught nursing students and medical students at The University of Kansas through high fidelity simulation education as well as trained current healthcare professionals with code blue skill building and team dynamics. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the American Nephrology Nurses Association. When not working, Ashley can be found following traveling across the country to watch her nephew’s baseball, basketball, and soccer tournaments and her niece’s dance competitions. She tries to go to every classic rock concert in the local area and enjoys collecting vinyl records.
